Anyone familiar with these two? I got the demo versions from my friend, and I have to convince my dad to buy them if I get good enough. First off, I'm not sure if these are the latest versions, but last time I checked, Bryce didnt have a trial version out so... Anyways, I looked for tutorials, and I wanted to start with Poser. I found a lot of Bryce tutorials, but only about 10 Poser tutorials, and yes, I did go to pixel2life.

A good question; neither of them are very good.

Don't know; Heard a lot about them. So what do you guys suggest? I don't want LightWave, since they have no trial version out and I'd rather try before I buy.

3ds max has a trial out, but it's uber expencive... softimage XSI should have a trial as well it's only $500... there is also free programs that are good like Blender.... and there is also Maya which has a free PLE version which has only a few limitations and is free. When you render the image it puts some watermarks on it though.

BTW Bryce isn't all that bad, it's poser that is kinda lame IMHO. Bryce is fairly cheap at $50 or so from what I know, hell I might buy it just to see for myself how good it is.

I have Maya (the PLE edition), but it's really hard to use. I haven't been able to make anything yet, just create NURBs and play with the paints and stuff. BTW, when I render something, it doesn't put a watermark on it... Is this only when you save it, or anytime you render?

I've had the full version of Bryce for about 5-6 yrs now. It was very expensive back then, I thought.
Really haven't sat down and created anything, other than playing with the program, creating 3D landscapes, etc.
Got Blender a short while ago, but haven't used it yet.
(note to self) FIND TIME FOR 3D FUN!
SCAR, Let us know which one you get and how you like it.
Ease of use, what you can do with it etc.
