Burning CD's

Hi all, son of 'bothered' here.
I have a slight problem with burning CD's. I just tried to stick a load of music onto a disc for my girlfriend using the default Windows method (drag and drop through Windows Explorer). Whenever I drag something onto the blank disc, the window just closes. When I re-open the blank disc through My Computer, the files are all there. When I go to click 'Write these files to CD' nothing happens. I get the error sound and nothing happens. It used to work fine so I don't understand what's wrong.
