hey im helping a friend choose a laptop for college and I helped him narrow it down to the latitude or inspiron. I know the latitude is directed towards business work, which is what he is majoring in, and the inspiron is your all around laptop for media, gaming and that kind of stuff. I know it really wouldnt make much of a difference which one he gets if the hardware is similar, but do the latitudes come loaded with some sort of business software? I just want to be able to easily explain to him what the major differences are without going into the technical hardware stuff and making him confused. so are they really different, or is it their way of just making more money?

At Dell it's all configurable by the purchaser. You get what you order on all systems, at a price!
