Linking KVMs

Is it possible to link two KVMs? I currently have a 2 computer KVM, however I may be working on more than two computers at the same time in the future. Is it possible to hook a 4 port KVM up to one of the ports on the 2 computer one, thus making basically a 5 port KVM?

You'll probably get bad signal quality on the monitor and some weirdness with the mouse. I've had problems like that. It will technically probably work....

Yes you can. I have 4 x Aten KVM's hooked up to one k/b, mouse and screen. Workes a treat.
Sally has 5 x the same on her desk, which workes great too. They all use PS2 plugs.

In your case there may be a draw back. Are they the same manufacturer?
It is definitely worth a go. As you say, the only thing you lose is one port, which is used to connect to the second KVM. Suggest to hook into the 4 port KVM first, so if you have a problem, you dont miss much.:)

First pic is my side. Second is Sally's side.

I am guessing you would only get poor quality through the second daisy chained KVM, so I understand how it makes more sence to put the 4 port one first. What kinda business do you run dragon?

He folds. Well, they fold. Sally keeps it all running, he just handles the hardware. (and pays the AC bill)

Your KVM, if it is high quality it will prob work. I have tried it with cheap ones adn the signal is so bad it wasn't worth it.

I have linked one two port and one four port TREADnet KVMs together. Just to test it out. There is no lag I can notice even from the ports farthest away from the actaul mouse and keyboard jacks.
