Hi everyone. Im currently doing my final year Computer engg and am doing a project for this year. It involves some servers Zimbra and Gordano. Ive got to install Zimbra presently and have no idea how to do it. Which OS do i need and which version do i download? I need to configure it too. So can someone please give me some details about this software and help me with the installation? Im currently running Windows XP Professional Service Pack 2 and Zimbra i guess needs Linux. Need some help that side too!
Thanks

you need a dedicated computer for this project.

basically you will be installing linux on a computer (I would recommend CentOS for this project) and then you will download and install the zimbra installer and execute it.

Zimbra is fairly easy to set up. Documentation can be found here.

    Thanks primesuspect
I installed fedora core 4 as it was the only thing I could get my hands on after 3 days.
I downloaded the zimbra version for it and started installing it. I reached the following part :

Before the configuration starts, the installer checks to see if the
hostname is resolvable via DNS. If there is an error, the installer asks if you
would like to change the hostname. We recommend that the domain name
have a MX record configured in DNS.

Now i have no idea how to give the domain name or how to create one or how to change the hostname. And how do i create a MX record? Also how do i configure DNS?

Im really new to linux so im having a little bit of trouble. Sorry!
