Google + Mozilla + Real

Software compaines Google, Real, and Mozilla have formed a pact linking their software packages together for desktop distribution. The package includes Mozilla Firefox, Google Toolbar, and Real Player.
All three companies compete in their respective markets with Microsoft. Mozilla is the maker of the most popular Web browser alternative to Microsoft's Internet Explorer browser.

The companies said that the Google Toolbar and Mozilla Firefox browser will soon be made available as options for customers of RealPlayer, RealNetwork's Rhapsody music subscription service and RealArcade games.
If you ask me, only one of those pieces of software is useful. And in my opinion, signing on with Real can only hurt the reputations of Google and Mozilla.

I don't think google is evil, but Real has been quite trashy recently IMO.

Recently? I have had an ongoing vow to never use "Realplayer" or any of their crap... now I see my favorite browser and my favorite search engine/other things signing together? WTF?!

I'm pretty sure nothing major will occur thoughin terms of being forced to install RP with any mozilla program. I don't even like the google toolbar.

Im pretty sure you just get mozilla and the google tool bar with real. If mozilla were to bundle real with it on there website I would switch to opera  .

    edit:
RealNetworks and Google, together with Web browser maker Mozilla Corp., said they had agreed to distribute the Mozilla Firefox browser together with the Google Toolbar along with Real's RealPlayer audio and video playback software.

Looks like its just bundled with real :).

Since all the machines ive ever seen with real used ie and there homepage set to msn search icon_puke_l.gif this will increase mozilla and googles marketshare.

Anyways googles a good company there moto is even don't be evil :)

I take back, my previous statement of realplayer being recently sh***y. I have many, many terrible memories I would like to forget about realplayer as a teenager with dialup and puberty.

But truth be told realplayer does indeed suck large monkey testicles. And that is putting it nicely.
