Dell laptop won't boot

My dell Inspiron 600M won't boot. I was using it fine one minute, then it just completely stopped. Now when I press the startup button nothing at all happens, no lights blink, nothing at all. What could be wrong? DOesn't work with or without battery, so now all I have a lap brick which I don't really need
