In their bid to outdo Sony in the Gaming Console market, Microsoft is releasing hardware and improvements to their XBox 360 console just in time to compete with Sony’s forthcoming PlayStation 3 game consoles.

Besides the already showcased external HD DVD player, Microsoft is planning the release of a wireless headset that allows the user to chat during online gaming and a wireless steering wheel with force-feedback. Another interesting feature is a camera, which will allow video communication, as well as gesture recognition in games.

Speaking of games, Microsoft also announced that by the 2006 holiday season many new and highly-anticipated game titles will be available.
...many new and highly-anticipated game titles will be available, including Gears of War, Lost Planet, Forza Motorsport 2, Viva Piñata, Grand Theft Auto IV, Mass Effect as well as certain exclusive, according to Microsoft, next-generation games for the Xbox 360, namely Tom Clancy’s Rainbow Six Vegas, Tom Clancy’s Splinter Cell” Double Agent, The Godfather: The Game, Superman Returns and Need for Speed: Carbon.
