Gateway Wireless Driver Not Working, Pulling Out Hair

edited August 2006 in Science & Tech
Hello all,

I am writing this after 5 weeks of struggling back and forth with Gateway support and hours of independent research, to no avail.

I reformatted my Gateway 200 ARC. I have all drivers and software installed and running except my wireless driver. I have tried every possible combination of the drivers listed on their website for my system, and none have worked.

I think my wireless card is an Intel PRO/Wireless (Calexico II).

I found the following page with someone with a similar problem but was unable to locate the appropriate driver from HP as one user suggested: http://www.short-media.com/forum/archive/index.php/t-34529.html. I tried installing one from HP but my system went to a blue "Dump of physical memory" page and crashed. Did I mess anything up with my system by doing that??? The dreaded blue page was why I reformatted to begin with.

Please help. I am at my wit's end. :sad2:

Just as an update/correction, my wireless card is an Intel® PRO/Wireless 2200BG Network Connection.

I downloaded a few of the drivers Intel offers on its site for that card, and each time I try installing, the computer crashes to that blue screen again.

    PLEASE HELP ME! :(
