Problems with new rig

I decided to enlist my laptop, but I'm having some issues.
I downloaded the text only client, installed it, ran it, entered my username, team number, etc....and then restarted it. The client was supposed to start with the OS, but it did not. I ran the console exe from my folding directory and it started up, and now my username is annonymous and my team number is zero.
How do I fix this?
