another good 1 is webroot-->http://www.webroot.com/consumer/products/spysweeper/ it's $30 but well worth it I think as is Ewido I don't know/think you'll find a good anti malware for less than that.. as they say "you get what you pay for" *most of the time atleast* but gnome there is also several FREE anti spyware utilities out there like adaware SE and spybot, spyware blaster, spyware guard, winpatrol, etc but also be sure NOT to download any of the programs from this site as they are rogue which basically means they disguise themselves as anti malware when there really spyware in themselves ..heres the site that lists all anti malware NOT to download-->http://www.spywarewarrior.com/rogue_anti-spyware.htm
EDIT: heres a good site of anti spyware reviews -->http://www.consumersearch.com/www/software/anti-spyware-reviews/index.html

well i have spysweeper and i liked the interface and all but DANG it takes resources when starting ur PC, ewido doesnt do much of that , I have spybot and adaware and they are ok for when I work on peoples pcs but for my personal use I am trying to get the some of the best protection

AVG is just awesome and its free so but spyware is a diff game its much more prevalent than viruses

If you purchase anything other than Spysweeper, you're selling yourself short. There is no better program for spyware.. It catches more than anything else, bar none.

Just disable the program from loading at startup.

yes it is the best on the market webroot IMHO and just disable it upon startup and be sure to start it up when booted up and that should take care of the long boot up time caused by it
