Blue Screen - Unmountable Volume
I'm writing this for a friend.
His dad knocked his laptop off the bed the other night and now when he tries to boot it up he gets a blue screen and the message Unmountable volume.
The laptop starts to load windows (Gets the the windows screen with the blue loading bar) but then dies.
The problem is the laptop doesn't have any internal drives (It's a Toshiba Protege) and it wont recognise a USB CD drive in his BIOS settings. He's tried booting it from his USB floppy drive using some Windows 2K boot disks and gotten to the recovery screen.
When he types in chkdsk it wont scan the drive and come back with an error message. Same thing happens when he tries to format the drive (says drive C can not be formatted).
Is there anything that might help?
Many thanks in advance
Damien
