I desperately need help here. I made the mistake of trying to install the trial version of ACT 2006. The installation did not complete, but it did install enough to try to take over my PC everytime I start it up. As soon as it comes on, I get an error message telling me the SQL server isn't working properly. Whenever I try to unistall it, I get the error message -1603. I contacted Sage software, but they have been about as useful as a screen door on a submarine.

My PC is a Dell Diminsion 2400 with almost 1 gig of ram and an 80 gig hard drive, Intel 4 (2.66) processor. I am about ready to reformat my system just to get rid of the ACT because it slows my system waaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaay down.

Try treating it like spyware. You can probably remove all the auto-start stuff with HijackThis, and then manually delete program folders.
