sound driver analag devices/soundMAX problem
NEVERMIND I FOUND THE AD1985 DRIVER THAT'S COMPATIBLE W/ MY OS, YAY!!
ok i stumbled onto that Foxconn thread and i found a post that i thought would be my savior but i ran into yet another inevitable problem
i checked my motherboard, didnt seem to see where the audio chip was though i did see the foxconn jacks
i have an intel desktop board D865GBF
the official description for it on intel's page for that particular mobo had the ad1985 codec listed
so i just went w/ my gut and looked up that driver
downloaded it from driverguides
Analog_Device_AD1985.zip was the filename
when i unzipped and ran the install exe nothing happend
i checked device manager and didnt see anything new under other devices or sound, video, and game controllers
i also tried a realtek driver which kept making my comp crash whenever i tried to enable it
is there a way to really figure out what hardware i have installed w/o using dxdiag, b/c the sound or music tabs didnt tell me much
also, under the device manager's sound, video, game controllers sub-menu i see:
-audio codecs
-legacy audio drivers
-media control devices
(i dont know what these are...)
i'm also one of those people who recently reinstalled the OS, deleting the old partition
help will bring my groveling at your feet and years of worship
