Transfer time and bandwidth questions

When I open taskmanager and look at the networking tab I see that it shows my usage at 1.54% and my connection speed at 48Mbps yet it tells me that the time to transfer a 5gb file to my main computer will take 200mins.

Why does it not use as much percentage of the network as it can to transfer as much data as fast a possible?

If my link speed is 48Mbps shouldn't the file transfer faster than in 200mins?

Anyway to speed up the transfer time?

    I notice that even though I'm using 1 to 1.5% of my network I have plenty of speed for internet even though I am transfering a large 4gb file across the network and it shows it will take 200mins to complete that transfer, how come?

    I dont like that gauge, It has never given an accurate reading in my case. it usually says my network usage is at 0%, even when I am moving large files or streaming videos across the network.
