Asrock MB needs jumpers for multiplier?
I just got an Asrock K7VM3 motherboard. It's new, but it is just the MB and cables. I downloaded the online manual from the company website.
I put in an Athlon MP1600, a stick of 256 MB DDR333 RAM, and wired it up to known good parts. It didn't do much of anything. Nothing appeared on the screen.
There are 5 rows of 3 pins each to set the multiplier. I set it to what should have been 10.5, the stock setting for the 1600 CPU (1.4 Ghz). I also set the FSB jumper to the 266 position, which meant using no jumper.
I also tried booting the system with no pins on the multiplier pins, with no changes.
Any ideas what it might need to work? I had the MB sitting on its antistatic pink foam on a cardboard box, tomorrow I'll try bolting it into a computer case and wire it up properly. Hopefully that will work better.
I think I just forgot to do something, but I'm not sure what.
No, it's not the clear CMOS jumper, I checked that already.
