Morning all,
I want to play with my free web space. It seems I have to use a FTP prog but the recommended one is only free for 30 days. Are there any anybody could recommend that are free?
I have searched and found a few but I don't know if any of them are good or bad so would aprieciate any input.
Cheers all.

If you use FireFox, FireFTP. I started using it recently and it works well enough.

Phew, seems SM has been down most of the day. Anyway, I can't get FireFTP. When I click the download I get an error at the top of my browser, FF 1.5.0.6., that says 'software installation is disabled, click edit options to enable'. I have clicked edit options and looked everywhere but there isn't anything to allow it. I have allowed the URL for any exceptions I found but it still won't have it.

I really like flash fxp. I think its a 30 day free trial but out of all the ftp programs that I've used its definately my favorite.

Here's 2 that are free and quite easy to use..... FTP Commander 7.50 530k (Freeware) There's also FTP - Navigator 7.50 on that page. You can choose which you like as far as features.
Here's the second link... smartftp (freeware for personal use)

    Yes Sledge,
I've used the SmartFTP and liked it.
I have also used CuteFTP Pro which costs, but I liked it alot too.
But, I haven't used the Commander or Navigator. I looked at their features and ease of use and they look like decent ones too.

I really do believe that if you want free, SmartFTP is the way to go.

FireFTP is nice if you want something light and simple. However, if you want the power similar to flashfxp SmartFTP is the winnar11!

    cheers

Thanks all. SmartFTP was one I looked at. As you all like it I'll go for that. Thanks again.
