RIAA gets ready for more lawsuits
The RIAA has notified 204 individuals that they are next in line to be sued for copyright infringement. This advance warning is being sent out in an attempt to persuade people to settle before the suits are actually filed.
The RIAA was highly criticised for the tactics used in their last batch of lawsuits, which saw 261 individuals being sued.
[blockquote]"We take the concerns expressed by policy makers and others very seriously," RIAA President Cary Sherman said in a statement. "In light of the comments we have heard, we want to go the extra mile and offer illegal file sharers an additional chance to work this out short of legal action."
