Sound distortion in my Presario V2356AP

edited September 2006 in Science & Tech
Hi, I am using Conexant AC-Link Audio driver VERSION: 6.14.10.535 Rev. B for my sound but after patching my XP os the sound got distorted. I did reinstalled the driver from HP website but it is not working. Somebody help me.

What kind of distortion? Are we talking humming, popping, or crackling mixed into your sound or just shrieking and whining instead of desired sound? Does the distortion occur all the time even when nothing is playing, only when sound is produced, or the same time as mouse movements and/or disk or CD drive access?

The kind of distortion you're experiencing can point to different places to look.

Thank u For replying me. The sound distirtion started to happen after I had patched my XP from a complimentary disk. I did tried almost all including reinstalling that driver but nohing helped so did OS reformatting. Now I got things working back. Hell of a time!

Good to hear you got the situation resolved. In the future though, you really should only patch through Windows Update if possible.
