Backup/RAID Storage Querry

This might seem like a bit of an odd question but I was wondering if there was any way to automatically back up data on to a removable hard disk. Im not the worlds best at backing up data and I have a lot of stuff I cant really afford to loose. I was wondering if there was a hardware configuration and or software that would let me set a specific folder and keep a copy on an external disk and any changes I make within that folder are automatically backed up.

Alternatively, it could be done as a scheduled process. The important thing is that I can back up to removable hard disk not CD/DVD/tape

Is there some sort of clever stuff I can do with RAID that will do this?

Thanks guys and girls.

Lots of External HDD's come with software which does just this - take Maxtor disks - they have a button you press that backs up specified files using the software - think its Dante backup.....

Should be no problem if you have the disk already - check out the manufacturers website for the download
