Need help with an external hDD

My computer has an 80 gb hard-drive thats crashing, so i baught a 250 gb internal hard-drive with an external casing. its a pretty good hDD (western digital)

but when i hooked it up, the computer wont detect it like its suppose to, and the directions for the internal drive say to go to DOS and all that, but im using it as an external so i dont need all that

can anyone help me out here?:rockon:

    control panel->admin tools->computer management->disk management

    you should be able to partition the drive there and go to town. :headbange
