Please help... [RESOLVED]

This may take quite a while...
Okay, my anti-virus software (Norton 2004) has been popping up a lot recently telling me that it's detected a virus on my computer. It's usually in the temporary internet files so I delete it manually and run virus scans etc. But it keeps coming back. Some of the most common ones are bgates[1].exe and srv***.exe, where *** is a variety of different letters (theres about 6 of them). I also get on in the windows\temp file called WIN1445.exe or WIN15D0.exe. It's also been running very slowly and short of backing up all my files and formatting I don't know what to do. I have a whole lot of unnecessary processes running that I don't know how to stop and should probably be shot for sinning against computers everywhere.
Anyway I've followed the instructions in one of the sticky threads and still need help. Here are my Kasperesky and HJT results:
Kasperesky:

    Hi jdgf,

    1. Please download VundoFix.exe to your desktop
    • Double-click VundoFix.exe to run it.
    • Click the Scan for Vundo button.
    • Once it's done scanning, click the Remove Vundo button.
    • You will receive a prompt asking if you want to remove the files, click YES
    • Once you click yes, your desktop will go blank as it starts removing Vundo.
    • When completed, it will prompt that it will reboot your computer, click OK.
    • Please post the contents of C:\vundofix.txt.

Note: It is possible that VundoFix encountered a file it could not remove. In this case, VundoFix will run on reboot, simply follow the above instructions starting from "Click the Scan for Vundo button" when VundoFix appears upon rebooting.

    Then:
    2. Please download SmitfraudFix (by S!Ri)
Extract the content (a folder named SmitfraudFix) to your Desktop.

Please reboot your computer in Safe Mode by doing the following :
    • Restart your computer
    • After hearing your computer beep once during startup, but before the Windows icon appears, tap the F8 key continually;
    • Instead of Windows loading as normal, a menu with options should appear;
    • Select the first option, to run Windows in Safe Mode, then press "Enter".
    • Choose your usual account.
Once in Safe Mode, open the SmitfraudFix folder again and double-click smitfraudfix.cmd
Select option #2 - Clean by typing 2 and press "Enter" to delete infected files.

You will be prompted : "Registry cleaning - Do you want to clean the registry ?"; answer "Yes" by typing Y and press "Enter" in order to remove the Desktop background and clean registry keys associated with the infection.

The tool will now check if wininet.dll is infected. You may be prompted to replace the infected file (if found); answer "Yes" by typing Y and press "Enter".

The tool may need to restart your computer to finish the cleaning process; if it doesn't, please restart anyway into normal Windows. A text file will appear onscreen, with results from the cleaning process; please copy/paste the content of that report into your next reply along with a new HijackThis log.
The report can also be found at the root of the system drive, usually at C:\rapport.txt

Ok, I have done what you said and fixed stuff through HJT. It seems fine so far, I havent had WinAntiVirus Pro pop up and try to sell me stuff. Norton hasnt popped up either.

Is there anything else I need to do, or is that it?

    1. You just need to update your Sun Java version so you are not susceptible to vundo infection.

    Updating Java:
    • Go to Start > Control Panel double-click on the Software icon > add/remove programs.
    • Search in the list for all previous installed versions of Java. (J2SE Runtime Environment.... )
It should have next icon next to it: javaicon.gif
      Select it and click Remove.
    • Then Download and install the newest version from here:
        http://www.java.com/en/download/manual.jsp

      2. If you used IE a lot while online, I suggest installing
SpywareBlaster to help prevent spyware from installing in the first place.

      3. Also please read Tony Kleins article "How did I Get Infected In The First Place?
      http://www.geekstogo.com/forum/index.php?autocom=custom&page=How_did_I

      Happy computing! :)
