Awful colour when playing DivX DVD Xvid. Desktops fine

edited September 2006 in Hardware
Hi,

I have recently plugged another monitor into my dual port 7900GT graphics card.
Im not sure this is the cause of the prob at all as have just reformatted my HD and never watched anything until I tried today.

Everything is fine, IE desktop etc etc Even the colour of media player is fine, its the picture it shows thats truely awful. All of the colours are way off and def set to default

I have tried Winamp too and its just as bad.

I know the DivX/Xvid Im attempting to watch is OK as Ive watched it many times before and have also tried many other files I know to be normally OK.

As said its not media player OR winamp as both of these are effected so changing the colour from default won't help.

Gamews play fine and Ive tried using a number of different Codecs too

Any ideas??

sounds like you codecs, id go looking for a codec pack like FFDshow, i also recomend VLC, or media player classic for players.

If the new codecs don't fix it update your graphics card drivers.

Thanks for replies everyone - all sorted now.

For anyone esle with same prob.

    > Nvidia Control Pannel
    > Video and Television
    > Ajust video Colour Settings.

Set everything to 50% except gamma. Set Gamma to 10%
