ASUS M2N32-SLI Blue Screen Fix

edited September 2006 in Hardware
I just recently build a new system with these specs:

ASUS M2N32-SLI Deluxe Wireless Bios 0603
AMD 64 X2 3800+
1GB (512x2) OCZ Special Ops Edition Memory DDR2 Dual Channel 800MHz
SATA WD 250GB
Sony DVD Burner
ATI TV Wonder VE
ASUS GeForce 7600 512MB DDR2 PCIx16
Windows XP Media Center Edition 2005 (Legit Copy)

Anyways i was getting BSOD to death after installing Windows XP. Even when windows started for the first time it would not boot. The computer would get ready to get to the log in screen and just restart. Or i would get BSOD while installing drivers. I have read numerous threads about this issue and have even called ASUS. The tech i talked to blamed the OCZ memory. After my 5th install i narrowed it down to the Nvidia drivers off the ASUS disk. I found the only way to avoid the BSOD completely is to do a fresh install and instead of booting normally for the very first time go into safe mode. Open up the device manager and manually install all the drivers in the list for the motherboard. DO NOT RUN THE Nvidia driver setup from the disk as this causes the BSOD. I have been running with no BSOD for a week now. I even installed Vista and got the BSOD after installing everything from the ASUS Disk. Hope this helps someone before spending more money on different RAM.
