c++ help

im new to programming and just started in august and im learning c++.
i was just wondering if anyone could help me out using ap strings

i wana write a program that lets me enter their name(i know how to do that)
then have the program tell there second lettler in their first name
there last letter in their last name
then how many letters they have in both names (i get stuck on how to do that,
i know that u have to do something with .length)

any help is welcomed

if it's an actual string, and not a char array:

string aString = "hi";

aString.length();

should do the same

pick whichever you (or your teacher) prefer(s)
