Despite it's price and other gaming consoles available in the market, the PS3 still created a buzz at the Tokyo game show as Japanese gamers got their first chance to play the new console.

Gamers eager to try the new Playstation console waited for up to 70 minutes for their turn.
"I saw all types of people come through, from age five up to 60, and quite a few girls," said a Sony official at the stand.

Sony Microsoft and Nintendo are intensifying their battle for control of the US$25-billion global gaming market. With Sony slashing its price tag on the PS3 by one-fifth in Japan, it hopes the lower price will make it more affordable to gamers, particularly to the non-hardcore gamers which Sony seems to be targeting.

Originally scheduled to be rolled out in March, the PS3 is now finally set to hit the shelves in Japan on Nov. 11 and in the US on Nov. 17.
"It's the first time that I will be able to test the PS3. The graphics are really great. The cars look so real," said 11-year-old Do Itakuya, waiting in line to try out the latest version of Gran Turismo for the PS3.

"Great! Fun! And there are lots of games," exclaimed 20-year-old brothers Masaki and Takafumi Endo.

"It's just like cinema," Masaki said.

Very interesting, It seems the Japan market is looking forward to the PS3 :) "Like always" and now people I never knew who gamed PC or console are talking about their 1 week of camping they will do to get one... with under 10K units per state, I would say this is going to be the highest selling unit on Ebay ever... the nice thing is PS3 will have 1.2 Million units in the US by the time Christmas is here, It will be just like the 360 launch :(

I will end up buying one once they are sitting on shelves, I have to many PC games to keep me busy :) and will allow me to avoid the crazy crowds and masses of people.
