Sata HDD installation problems...
I know I'm not the only one having issues with these damn HDD's.
This is my situation.. I brought a WD800 Sata hdd and was told that with a sata to ide converter I could use the drive on my Ide mainboard... but I'll be buggered if I can get it going.
This is my info
Athlon XP1700+
MSI KT2 Combo Maotherboard
512MD sdram
40Gb IDE HDD
plus one 80GB WD800 Sata HDD which I want to use.
I have a converter for it which is in and seems to be running. I have flashed my BIOS to the latest version and I have loaded the latest VIA Sata/raid drivers for my Mainboard but I cannot detect the HDD in the BIOS or indeed anywhere...
so is my moptherboard too old to use this drive or is there something that I have just missed on doing?
