Blu-ray not for sale in US

Blu-ray manufactures seem to not want to sell their precious high-definition recorders in the U.S. It looks as if Japanese manufactures told ZDNet they are not convinced that Americans will buy them. As we seem to be too keen on our Tivo recorders, according to their thinking.
A Toshiba spokesman said that the Americans were too keen on their Tivo recorders and were not that interested in digital recording. However, the Japanese cannot get enough of digital content and will probably want Blu-ray straight away.
I am all for super high-def recording, but at $2000 I think Tivo will suffice.

I'd much rather use my TiVo than Blu-Ray.
