Wii Production In Full Swing

Financial firm UBS was quoted as stating that Wii production will exceed the predicted quota of six million units by year end.

According to UBS at least two million Wii consoles were produced in Q3 2006, with at least seven million and maybe as many as nine million units planned for production in 4Q 2006."
Nintendo could be looking at a build of up to 11 million consoles before the end of the calendar year - an amazing figure compared to struggling Sony, which announced the availability of only 500,000 PS3s on launch.

Sony said it plans to ship 2.4 million units before year end, down from the previously-forecasted four million. But considering its continuing struggles this seems more and more unlikely.

Heh... Sony's numbers compared to Nintendo just makes me giggle.

I like the price, but with 9 million units, I wonder if they'll still sell like mad. If not, perhaps the price will drop even more! :)

I wonder how many of those will hit the streets on launch day. My friend, myself and my brother plan on camping for this thing but now I'm beginning to wonder if that'll even be necessary...
