Question - respawn issue - 2003 server

OK - Here's the deal. I got Ad-Aware. Ran that 10 times. Booted in Safe Mode, ran it 5 more times there. Cleaned out C:\, C:\windows, C:\windows\system32, C:\documents and settings. disabled what was rank in my services, removed anything I researched to be funky from Add and Remove Programs in Control Panel. Cleaned up the web location tab for active directory for my hijacked desktop, all the while cross-referencing everything I did with what would come up in every HijackThis scan I would run....
But the crap keeps spawning! Here's the kicker though: I'm using windows 2003 server as a desktop os (no directory services, Domain Controller installs or fancy crap - just stand alone app-type server o.s config).
Now, I know, from reading here that XP has a system restore location that is supposed to be checked to ensure nothing is respawning from that location, but since I'm rollin' with 2003 server, what would be the corresponding location for this o.s.? (I left my 2003 server book over someone's house, and can't look it up for myself)..
Can somebody let me know what the corresponding location would be on 2003 server? I'm trying to be as thorough as possible in my cleanup.

This is a bummer. I'd post my HijackThis log, but I can't make it past the bloody ads to this site. If somebody wants me to post them from work (where I am now) I can do that.....
