CSS and BF2 FPS Problems

edited October 2006 in Gaming
Hi and thank you for reading whoever reads this.. like it says in the title i have a massive problem with Counter strike : Source and Battlefield 2 frames per seconds and was wondering if anyone could help me. Here is my PC spec first of all :

• Intel pentium 4 (dont think you need to know but there you go)
• CPU is 3.40GHz
• 2 GB of RAM
• Graphics card is : ALL-IN-WONDER x800 series and when i go on device manager there are 2 so i will tell you the other one just incase and that is ALL-IN-WONDER x800 Series Secondary. (AND MY GRAPHICS CARD IS AGP JUST SO YOU KNOW)

My problem is, is that my FPS for CSS is extremely low no matter what resolution i put it at so if i have lowest of low resolution, its still terrible FPS and the problem with BF2 is that ive been trying for like a year to get a good enough graphics card to work with BF2 on high but its impossible, on low it works O.K not perfect but O.K (it doesent have lagg). so yeah if somone could give me feedback on my problem that would be cool.. and also if this helps i have a Fujitsu Siemens computer with plug and play monitor.

thank you.

    It will be tough to get a card that will run bf2 on high, but you shouldn't have problems with CS:S. I run an x800xt All in wonder card with a 2.4 ghz athlon xp, and I can run CS:S maxed out, at 1280x1024.

    Do you have the latest drivers from ati.com?
    Have you defragged your hard drive recently?
    What resolution/graphics settings are you trying to run at?

    1. I have all the latest drivers
    2. No
    3. Well with CSS i have it on low but its still lagging as hell and even if i go on a really low ping server its exactly the same.

    Ill do a defrag tonight but when i try and do it it says you dont need to defrag but ill do it anyway. thanks for the reply

    cat = catalyst (ati's drivers).

    @grayfox:

    do you have a reason, other than you said so? (link, for example).

    yeah if i could have a reason is to why to downgrade and if its true then a link would do good, thanks
