    Hi Window Licker! :)

You have a rootkit type infection, that can be difficult to remove if handled wrong. I'm going to get some advice. Be back soon!

Hi Window Licker! I hope your still there. :)

    Please try this for me:

Download Fixgrom.zip from any of the locations below and unzip it to your desktop. (do not run from within the archive)

    http://aknow.prevx.com/zeroL/FixGrom.exe
    http://pcalsicuro.phpsoft.it/FixGrom.exe
    1. Doubleclick FixGrom.exe
    2. Click Scan.
    3. If you get a warning that the Rootkit Component was not found on the system, answer YES to the question if you want to continue removal anyway.
    4. Prevx will ask you to reboot, click OK.
    5. After reboot, Prevx will scan your system, this might take a couple of minutes, please be patient.
    6. When done, click Exit.
    7. Answer No to the question if you want to download and install Prevx1 now.
    8. A log will be created named C:\gromozon_removal.log, please post that back here.

Hi Window Licker! Please do the following in the order specified...

Run HijackThis, click on Open the Misc Tools Section
    Click on Open ADS Spy
    Uncheck the "Quick Scan"
Check the "Ignore safe system info data streams"
Finally, click Scan button. ADS Spy will scan the system and report all the ADS present in the system.
Click Save log and post the ADS log back here.

Then click the back button, then the scan button. Fix the following items.

R3 - Default URLSearchHook is missing
    O2 - BHO: Class - {70EC447A-FF0E-21C9-18A9-266F67D675D1} - C:\WINDOWS\juggh1.dll (file missing)

    Next ....

    Download Bobbi Flekman's RegSearch from
    http://www.bleepingcomputer.com/files/regsearch.php

Open the RegSearch folder and double-click the icon for RegSearch.exe to launch the program.
Copy / Paste the following line into the Search Box:

    com9.lrc

    next line enter : 70EC447A-FF0E-21C9-18A9-266F67D675D1

    next line enter : juggh1.dll

    next line enter : ixxk.dll

    then hit OK

After completion Notepad will be opened with all the found instances of the string. The resulting file is saved in the same location as RegSearch.exe.

    Please post the following:

    1) ADS log
    2) RegSearch results
    3) New HijackThis log

Also, I would like to see another log from HijackThis.
    • Run Hijackthis.
    • Click on Open the Misc Tools section.
    • Next click on Open uninstall manager.
    • Press the Save list button.
    • Save the file to your desktop, with the default name of uninstall_list
    • Copy & Paste the entire contents of that file back here

Hi Window Licker. Please do the following...

Click Start > Run > type in appwiz.cpl and hit enter. From the list uninstall the following, if present:

    CardPlayer Poker
ewido anti-malware <-- There is a newer version out which we will get later on in this fix.
    PartyPoker
    Spybot - Search & Destroy 1.3
<-- Spybot is at version 1.4. Has been for several years. We will get that at the end.

By the way you told me to remove party poker. That is my game I play. Do I really need to remove it or just cause you thought it was there on accident?

    Hi Window Licker!

Party Poker is bundled with malware that can/will infect your computer. I strongly advise you remove it from Add/Remove programs now.

Hi Window Licker, i'm back! When you get back, please do the following...

You should print out these instructions, or copy them to a NotePad file for reading while in Safe Mode, because you will not be able to connect to the Internet to read from this site.

Next, please reboot your computer in Safe Mode by doing the following :
    • Restart your computer
    • After hearing your computer beep once during startup, but before the Windows icon appears, tap the F8 key continually;
    • Instead of Windows loading as normal, a menu with options should appear;
    • Select the first option, to run Windows in Safe Mode, then press "Enter".
    • Choose your usual account.
Once in Safe Mode, open the SmitfraudFix folder again and double-click smitfraudfix.cmd
Select option #2 - Clean by typing 2 and press "Enter" to delete infected files.

You will be prompted : "Registry cleaning - Do you want to clean the registry ?"; answer "Yes" by typing Y and press "Enter" in order to remove the Desktop background and clean registry keys associated with the infection.

The tool will now check if wininet.dll is infected. You may be prompted to replace the infected file (if found); answer "Yes" by typing Y and press "Enter".

The tool may need to restart your computer to finish the cleaning process; if it doesn't, please restart it into Normal Windows.
A text file will appear onscreen, with results from the cleaning process; please copy/paste the content of that report into your next reply.
The report can also be found at the root of the system drive, usually at C:\rapport.txt

Warning : running option #2 on a non infected computer will remove your Desktop background.
    __________________________

Please do an online scan with Panda ActiveScan

    - Once you are on the Panda site, click the Scan your PC button
    - A new window will open...click the Check Now button
    - Enter your Country
    - Enter your State/Province
    - Enter your e-mail address and click send
    - Select either Home User or Company
    - Click the big Scan Now button
    - If it wants to install an ActiveX component allow it
    - It will start downloading the files it requires for the scan (Note: It may take a couple of minutes)
    - When download is complete, click on Local Disks to start the scan
    - When the scan completes, if anything malicious is detected, click the See Report button, then Save Report and save it to a convenient location.

Post the contents of the Panda scan report, along with a new HijackThis Log. Don't forgot the rapport.txt too. :)

Hi Window Licker, we're almost nearing the end now.

    - Click HERE and download the file to your desktop
    - You should have a file called new_uninstall on your desktop - open it
    - Press OK at the prompts
    - Enter the code shown
    - Press OK to complete the removal

    Reboot your computer!

Look for and delete the following folder, if found:

    C:\Documents and Settings\All Users\Application Data\FiveBallFilmNoun <-- This folder!
    ______________________

You can delete the following, as they are not needed anymore.

    new_uninstall.exe
    Fixgrom.zip
    FixGrom.exe
    Bobbi Flekman's RegSearch
    SmitfraudFix

Everything looks good now. How are things?

If you were able to delete the folder, then you don't need to run the file.

I removed your email address so you don't get spammed.

Let me know how things are please.

Credit here is due to Kimberly, an expert that helped me help you to fix your initial problems. I'll send her a PM and let her know that things are resolved.

    Your HijackThis log is clean.

Now that things are back to normal, here are some other measures you can take to stay more secure online:

It's a good idea to Flush your System Restore points after ridding yourself of malware: You can clean this by doing the following:
    • Click Start | Help and Support | Undo changes to your computer with System Restore.
    • Click Create A Restore Point then click Next. Give it a name it and then click Create, then Close.
    • Close the Help and Support Center box.
    • Click Start | Run and type Cleanmgr
    • Select (C: ) then click OK.
    • Click the More Options tab.
    • Click Clean Up in the System Restore Section.
This will remove all previous restore points except the newly created one.

Install and keep updated, Spybot Search & Destroy, SpywareBlaster and SpywareGuard

I'll mark this thread resolved. If you need help again, start a new thread. :)
