Everytime I go to work for about 7 hours, and when I come home my computer has restarted and is at the login screen. Its kind of irritating.

The only thing I did recently is clone my drive to another using Acronis True Image 9.0, which isn't working but thats a whole nother story. Any way to fix this?

Thanks!

I'm curious. What about the cloning experience that you had isn't working?

Hibernating does not rely on whether the system has power or not, standby will however. Hibernating saves the contents of the current system status to the hard drive, so you can see where I am going.

Verify that your laptop has hibernating enabled under power mgmt settings. If it is, how are you initiating hibernate mode? You can set it to start when you close the lid or press the power button. Of course on log off or using the task manager. LMK

    Oops I meant standby

Either way in the cloning experience when I set the drive that I cloned to as the master to boot from, at the end of its POST I get "Operating system failed to load" and then it hangs there til I restart or turn off the computer.

Sorry for the screw up, its a desktop, so no hibernate, just standby =\
