adobe pagemaker: pictures blurry

I became the colayout man on the newspaper and I been messing with getting the pictures to have bettery quality when its on the newspaper layout. The way I do it right now is save it as a .eps file. We put it in greyscale first to.

IS there any other way to make it clearer???

    Yes. EPS sucks AND blows... Use PDF.

    What version of Pagemaker are you using? 6.5 and 7 both support export to PDF natively.

    With EPS, you are basically rasterizing (turning to bitmap) everything at 72dpi (screen resolution).
