Free peoples of middle-earth! I am on a quest to finish building an Asterisk@home box and am in dire need of a HD. I am looking for something smaller than 40gb, obviously to keep the price down. A range from anywhere of $10 (someone's old 5gb useless drive that works) to $30 shipped is my price range.

Please let me know what you got!

I have a few drives around 5-10 GB that I could part with. I have not turned them on in at least a year so I will try to run SpinRite on them to make sure they're operable before I can promise you one of them.

I'll get back to you soon with drive details and if they work.

    Ok here's the deal.

The largest drive I had (~8 GB) does not appear (or sound) to be in good shape. I do, however, have two other smaller drives; both working.
    1. TriGem 4.3GB. Passed SpinRite tests 100%
    2. Quantum Fireball ST (variable size). You can adjust the Cylinders/Heads/Sectors (in BIOS) to change the size. Varies from 1.6 GB - 6.4 GB. Passed SpinRite 100%. All configuration settings are printed on the label on how to change the size.

If you want either one or both that's fine. I'm not looking for much cash, basically just shipping + time to run them to the post office.
