help please win98,deleted elements

please can anyone help ,elements of my win98 os have been deleted.is there anyway to repair it without having to install as i dont have the disc,this pc was given to me and i would like to get more use out of it .is there anyway of reinitialising it to maufacturers specs .thank you for your time

First I need some information. What is your waranty and has it expired? Also if you go to microsoft.com and download a windows98 boot disk you can error check your HD for problems with the install, and it will fix them for you. (See: http://www.microsoft.com/windows98/usingwindows/maintaining/articles/004Apr/Startup.asp )
Please tell me if this helps you at all. I am not really familiar with W98.
