edited October 2006 in Hardware
Hello there...
System Configuration:
1.Mobo - Abit Fatality AN9 32x SLI
2.CPU - AMD Athlon 64x2 4600+
3.GPU - ASUS EA X1600XT
4.RAM - Dual DDR2 Kit OCZ 667 MHz 2GB(1024 MBx2) Gold Series
5.HDD - SATA2 Hitachi Deskstar 200 GB

Well i have this problem...My RAMs are 1GB each so i have 2 GB theoritically! The problem is that the system detects only 1 GB of RAM instead of 2GB...What should i do to fix this problem,is it incompatibillity or something else?Is it a BIOS configuration problem?Any help would be aprecciated!

*I made bios update, but nothing changed!

Thanks in advance!

Let's go through a few troubleshooting steps here. Have you pulled a stick of ram and tried to boot yet? Pull 1 stick and boot up and if ok, then replace the pulled stick in the slot it was in and pull the other and see if you can boot. It sounds like you might have either a bad stick of ram or a dead ram slot on the mobo to me. If 1 of the sticks won't register and the system won't boot when trying this, then try swapping to the other pair of ram slots and do the same thing.

One other thing to check is to make sure the ram is firmly pushed into the slot too. Many motherboards are very tight on the ram slots when new and you have to doublecheck that the ram is firmly seated. :)
