Best way to share files on a Wiresless network?

I would like to know what the best way is to share a files between a Desktop and Laptop that are in separate rooms. The laptop is wireless.

At the moment, I have two folders (One on the Desktop, and one on the Laptop) that have sharing access. This is how I share/access any files between both computers on the network. Lame, I know! :nudge:

Is there a better way of sharing files betweem the two computers? Perhaps creating a new drive or something?

Any advice would be apprciated!

That's kinda how I do it, but when I had both my laptop and desktop wireless it had all kinds of issues sharing files... especially large ones, so now the desktop is a file sharing server with an Ethernet connection.

Ethernet would be good idea, but not possible. Guess I'll keep things the way they are. Thanks for the input!

I share mine over my wireless...and the way you hinted at. I mapped a drive in each computer to the other's "My Documents", and mapped another to each computer's "Desktop". That way if I scan an image or take one off my camera, I can just cut and paste or save it straight to the desktop on my laptop. When I go to the laptop I can't miss it. I also made a "Send To" shortcut for each other's desktop so I can just right click on a file and put it on the other desktop.

I also use a little Microsoft thing called SyncToy. I downloaded it a while ago...you'll find it. It takes some time to set it up, but once you do you just run it to sync the folders you want to have the same on both machines. I make it sync My Docs (except for all the music) and my .pst's. That way Outlook is the same on both, and it's another way of backing up.
