problems with media player

i'm sure this question has been asked a million times...however my search time is limited right now.

my problem is my windows media player 9 was working just fine, lately however it plays a song or two then it stops responding, just freezes...can anyone help me or suggest what i can do....before i throw this thing out the window...thanks a million....CuteP

    Does it do it when you run other programs in the background? Or does it crash on its own? One quick thing u can do is try reinstalling it. I know thats cheap advise but it sometimes works.
