No sound for video files

I can't seem to get any sound when playing DVDs or downloaded clips. I can play MP3s just fine though and Skype works like a charm. Any suggestions?

What program are you using for playing clips? Sounds like maybe you don't have a codec or decoder installed on you system properly.

I have Windows Media 10 and InterActual Player. Niether works with sound.

download the all in one codec pack from here:

should solve all your problems.
