hello I am running Microsoft Windows XP Professional. I am currently using kaspersky internet security ,hijack this, AVG Anti spyware,. I think my situation is a result of tashi's sticky post. The results are much the same and described as follows:

My taskbar currently has a flashing X and ? in a blue circle in it. A mouseover reads "Critical System Errors!" and clicking it directs me to virusburst.com.
as u see at this pic.
spyware.JPG

I've also noticed under software explorer in Windows Defender two isamonitor.exe running in startup. Then isamonitor.exe ,PMSNGR.exe PMMON.exe and isamini.exe currently running. Both paths lead to a ivedeocodec "C:\Program Files\ivedeo codec"

I also experienced an issue where I open up IE it would redirect to the safeiepage that said I had W32.Myzor.Fk@yf and numerous system warning messages would pop up through the yellow triangle sign at the bottom right hand corner and porn popups. These symptoms have not happened over the past day or so, yet I don't know what I did to stop it. I'd like to make sure this is no residual from whatever caused this.

With that problem I also had I have a blinking ! inside a yellow triangle. There was a balloon message that pops up above it too:

"System Alert: Malware threats

Your computer is infected with a back door Trojan that allows the remote attacker to perform various malicious actions. Click this Baloon to download malware removal software"

However now i removed the category "C:\Program Files\ivedeo codec"
and also "isamonitor.exe ,PMSNGR.exe PMMON.exe and isamini.exe" have stopped runnig and all that done by doing what this thread view " http://www.short-media.com/forum/showthread.php?t=50851&highlight=video+codec " and i think its a similar problem

the main thing i want to say that my task bar is still flashingX and ? in a blue circle in it A mouseover reads "Critical System Errors!" and clicking it directs me to virusburst.com.

so please help me remove it

I too am having the same issue with this root infection. Through google I have managed to get rid of the annoying question mark but now have the blanking exclamation point in yellow. Which says Security Alert: NetWorm-i.Virus@fp when I run my mouse over it. Please help as well!

I ran a System Restore to a date prior to when this problem began occurring. That knocked it out in one fell swoop. I'm glad it's gone; that was annoying!

    :banghead:

For those who haven't done a system restore before, go to Accessories -> System Tools -> System Restore and select a date before this problem starting happening. This may remove programs that you've installed since that date, but if you need to you can undo the systems restore.

    Good luck!

Excellent! Glad I could help. The System Restore thing was a last resort shot-in-the-dark idea. Just got lucky.
