Win32 Luder help
Hello,
I have a PC that is infected with the Win32 Luder-F virus.
I've made some progress but it is still heavily damaged. I do not have the disk to reload XP, so I would like to attempt to clean it if someone would be so kind as to assist me.

I'm running Avast, Ad-Aware and Spybot. I have also run CureIt. Restore is off. I've also run Hijack This and ComboFix. I have logs for both. It will boot now and all Virus Scans are clear. I know this isn't over though.
I will run a new Hijack this scan and log and post it here.

First, please turn System Restore back ON, for what its worth.
Next, Luder is a new mass mailing file infecting worm. Therefore, I cannot guarantee the success of removing this infection, and it will likely mean you will have to reformat. If it comes to that, you should back up any important documents or files such as pictures, mp3s, word documents, etc. Avoid backing up any .exe or .scr files as Luder infects all of these file types.
By the look of your log, Luder has done a lot of damage already.
I know you said don't have a Disk for XP, but I have to issue this warning because of the severity of the infections.
The infections gives intruders complete control of your computer, logging key strokes, stealing information, etc.
You are strongly advised to do the following immediately!:
- Disconnect infected computer from the internet and from any networked computers until the computer can be cleaned.
- Call all of your banks, credit card companies, financial institutions and inform them that you may be a victim of identity theft and to put a watch on your accounts or change all your account numbers.
- From a clean computer, change *all* of your online passwords -- for ISP login, email, banks, financial accounts, PayPal, eBay, online companies, and any online forums or groups you belong to.
Because of its backdoor functionality, your PC is very likely compromised and there is no way to be sure it can ever again be trusted. Many experts in the security community believe that once infected with this type of Trojan, the best course of action would be a reformat and reinstall of the OS. However, if you do not have the resources to reinstall your OS and would like me to attempt to clean your machine, I will be happy to do so.Do NOT change passwords or do any transactions while using the infected computer because the attacker will get the new passwords and transaction information.
To help you make a more informed decision, please read the following articles:
- Danger: Remote Access Trojans.
- When should I re-format? How should I reinstall?
- How Do I Handle Possible Identify Theft, Internet Fraud and Credit Card Fraud?
Should you have any questions, please feel free to askPlease let me know your decision and we'll try and fight the infections.
Should I be concerned about using my USB Drive between systems? That's what I used to get some of the software on the infected PC...
Would you like me to try and clean the computer? Please be as prompt as possible so the infection does not spread.
I would like to know how to read the logs though? If it's something that I can learn?
