ATI's response to alleged overheating Radeon cards and their request
The alleged issues with respect to ATI 9800 series cards overheating and possibly causing monitor damage continues to “heat up.” There have been many users reporting issues that they believe are related to the ATI product.
Short-Media continues to investigate and ATI has sent us official word in respect to the alleged issues that apparently do not exist according to them.
[blockquote]ATI: "We have spent a great deal of time trying to reproduce this problem and analyzing our driver code. There is nothing in our driver code that has changed since CAT 3.7 to CAT 3.8 that could possibly cause this behaviour. We believe that our drivers are not causing these alleged problems.”[/blockquote]
It is our goal to assist in uncovering the source of these alleged issues, ATI related or not.
Any user who believes they may have experienced these issues is invited to email ATI technical support or MediaMan with their complete system specifications, full name, contact phone numbers and email address and a brief description of problems experienced.
