So....more on the internet problem. How often? Does it come back by itself and how long is it ususally off? When you say "Comcast" I take it that means its a cable modem? If so, when you loose the 'net, is the TV cable still good? Esp up around channel 54?

Do you know that you loose Comcast or are you all connected wirelessly and what you really loose is the wireless connection?

As for the Linksys WMP54G, don't know if anyone else has that Wireless NIC....if so speak up. Otherwise, you might want to update the driver and check out the Knowlege Base at Linksys. They have one of the better self help sections.

the problem happens every day to every other day i would say, it comes back on by itself and it turns of for about a minute to hours(sucks when your playing xbox online and it kicks you off because you lost connection). we have the cable modem and it happens to all computers wireless or not, the main computer that is hooked up to the cable even loses internet. We havent been able to get channel 59 its really blurry but doesnt bother us to much since we dont watch scifi channel.

So it sounds like it's the cable modem, not the wireless. And the reason I asked about channel 54 (your 59 is close enough) is that I've read that's the part of the bandwidth where the internet signal rides. If that's snowy, then it makes sense that your internet is slow. If someone else can confirm that I'd like to hear. But I'd say it's pointing to you having some noise or other weakness in your cable connection. Have you talked to Comcast about it?

Do you mean they are saying you bought the modem so they don't think its their problem, or are you saying they don't think the problem is their modem?

this is off subject but how do you fix the colors on your monitor, the red and blue are off centerd so it makes the words look blurry.....back to the subject, well we never bought a modem, they gave us one and they said that wasnt the problem, and our router is new, when we had the old one we had problems so we got a new one and still have the problems.

Right click anywhere on the desktop, then left click Properties, then the Settings tab, then the Advanced button, then start poking around in your video card driver. They're all a little different.

I could be overruled here by some guys who have done some cable modem installs, but it sure sounds like a cable (not cable modem) problem to me...regardless of what they guys at Comcast tell you.

k Ill call them and see if they can check the cables. (when i emailed he said he ran some tests and they showed up fine, but he could have done it when the internet was working so i dont know what to tell him.)

If you have a cheap splitter or cheap R59 coax, you will also get the same symptoms. R59 is a bit smaller than R6. It will say what it is right on the casing of the coax. R59 = cheap, R6 = good. Check all your cables right up to the modem. Its a "weakest link in the chain" kinda thing.

On my ATI there's a big ole "default" button on the "color" tab. Prolly is on yours too whatever it is.

Don't know. Mine's an ATI Mobility Radeon 9000. Poke around, you'll find it...or try the help files.....or ATI's site.
