Zune Not Talking To Vista

It seems Microsoft's new digital media player, Zune is not compatible with their new Vista operating system.

Buried somewhere in the Zune website is Microsoft's admission that the player is not compatible with Vista. It also does not say when it will introduce a patch or update, to enable compatibility.

To it's credit, the Zune has already won many people over. It's functionality is quite extraordinary and the device shows a lot of promise. It still begs the question though as to how it's possible that a company with such a vast R&D team, is unable to make their two biggest products in four years, work together?

Will the final release of Vista be ready for Zune? Not likely, since it has already gone final and been released to Volume License customers. Will Microsoft fix it? Of course – it's in their absolute best interest to do so.
For now users are told to "check back soon for updates".
