Aaaaarrrrhhhh!
Two eBay traders agreed this week to pay $100,000 in damages after they were caught selling illegal copies of Norton security software.
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
In an SIIA statement, defendant Kevin Liu said: "If I had known that SIIA was checking eBay for software piracy, and if I had known the software was pirated and that I'd have to pay such a high fine, I would have never sold the pirated software to begin with."
Right, Kevin. We believe you.
    Right?!
    At work, it seems the majority of people have Norton, thus the majority of people who appear to be connected aren't getting the internet because Norton is blocking it. WTF! It sucks having to tell people that they need to turn off their firewall to get online, makes my company look bad. Wouldn't upset me as much if it didn't happen so often, and the same thing occurred(but even more-so) when I worked for Verizon DSL. Like at least 90% of the time when they are getting a valid IP, but no internet... it's that damned NIS program. Turn it off, it works, and tell them to speak with Norton.
    We have customers sign an agreement at work which permits us to remove any Norton software. That stuff is foul.
