Need Quick Help! Motherboard + CPU

edited December 2006 in Hardware
Just checked up on Fry's ads today and they have a AMD Athlon 64 X2 4600+ with a ECS KN1 Lite Motherboard on sale for 220$.

Seems like a good deal considering I was going to go with a Core 2 Duo E6300 (Clocks at 1.8) with a Gigabyte Motherboard ( Don't remember which one) for 230$.

Just need some feedback, is the Athlon a better choice and will the ECS come back to bite me? I've read a few review on that specific ECS motherboard and it's gotten several positives. Just need an opinion.

Personally I'd go with the Core 2 Duo over the AMD.

    Core 2 Duo.

Core 2 Duo is the way to go, man. I have a Opty 170 system and an E6600 system and the C2D is faster and uses less power.
