Windows Add/Remove Programs Corrupt?
T-LAM-C
The Old-English "D"
A new one thats driving me ape-@#$%!
While doing some maintenance on one my rigs (System B) I noticed that Add/Remove Programs in Windows XP Pro has lost some functionality, like the ability to remove programs! The service no longer shows a majority of the programs that I have installed on my system, not even the WindowsXP SP2 entry. SP2 does, however, show up in the System Information. I have a strange item in the Add/Remove programs list that I did not install myself called "WebFldrsXP"! After some googling I read that this is used for file sharing and networking? My two systems share an internet connection via a wireless router but no true networking, no file sharing or print sharing.
All of this became evedent to me during a downgrade of my Zone Alarm Pro software to the free version. After uninstalling Pro I am not able to install the free version because the True Vector program is still running, even though it no longer exists! All of this went without a hitch on my main rig (System A), This folder does not exist, I have full functionality in Add/Remove Programs and I did downgrade to free Zone Alarm.
What is this WebFlderXP program, what happened to Add/Remove Programs and what is it doing to my system? ANY HELP AT ALL, PLEASE!

Check this thread in the Zone Labs forum and follow the steps exactly. Hope that does it for you.
I thank you for your input! I have been a trusted user of Zone Alarm for many years without a hitch and did not want to deal with the hassle of changing Firewalls. (As if this wasnt hassle enough, hey!). This did clear up my install problem and the firewll is up and running. My Add/Remove Programs problem iremains with the Change/Remove button not available to any of the programs with the exception of the newly installed Zone Alarm!
Ill have to continue research on this issue later. Everything works fine and no Spyware, Adware or Virus seems to be present.
Thanx again for your help!
