    :)

Well, there have been a few threads lately on how to decrease your energy usage to help offset part (or all) of your folding wattage...

Doesn't do a whole lot to reduce overall energy usage, but helps you do more with the same amount... maybe reduces the hate of nature to a severe dislike? Perhaps I can be seriously irritated by nature instead?

One thing I do know...don't show any of the end users that picture, then all I'll hear is "the penguin must have done it"...

I used to work with this smug fellow who kept bragging about his "electric" car. He didn't know what to say when I pointed out the local electric plant (Pepco) was coal-fired. After that, it was a common occurrence for co-workers to ask him how many miles he got to the lump. :ninja:

My computer runs on rainbows and fairydust, that way I don't burn any nasty coal like the rest of you people.

Of course, to get the fairydust... well I guess I still hate nature.

Gargs, there's something about the way you use the term fairydust that makes me feel all funny inside.

    It's a good feeling, though. ;)

...or more accurately, how many grams of CO2/mile. EV's are still 3 times better than a Prius... ;)

    Good article on the topic...

However, my main focus for driving an electric car is to increase awareness and create demand, so eventually prof and prof's kids can drive one too. The goal is that by getting these cars to prof and prof's kids, there will be a chance for prof's kids' kids. The cost savings are an extra benefit, but a benefit nonetheless.

I have nothing against alternative-fuel vehicles. It was the smug attitude that made me happy to take that particular gentlemen down a peg. :p

(And, no, I am not accusing you of being smug.) :)

Smug makes you enjoy the smell of your own farts. It was on South Park so it must be true!

Did anyone see Happy Feet? Tap dancing penguins be damned. I wanted to see a cute family movie and it ended up being a preachy "yuo r destroyn teh world oh noes" film a la Fern Gully.

I just get a kick out of the electric company telling you to use less power.
I remember when the electric company gave you free light bulbs so that all of your lights would burn brightly.
