Hello,

I want to reinstall Windows Xp the following days, as I got a virus and after cleaning the computer doesn't work as smooth as before. I gives some strange erros and sometimes it justs hangs up... I want to backup Outlook Express emails and settings before reinstall, and restore afterwards. Any help on how to do it ? ( don't want to forget anything as after I format and reinstall, I don't want to see that I forgot something )

OE stuff is a bit scattered around your computer. But Files and Settings Transfer Wizard is your friend. F.A.S.T. will transfer all of your OE stuff, all your settings, everything in My Docs, etc. I use it all the time.

One note of caution, F.A.S.T. saves it all into one file, and that file can be corrupted too easily. After you save all your F.A.S.T. stuff to an external hard drive, try to reimport it right back on to the same machine. If the import bar moves just a couple of green bars, you're good. If it's corrupted, it will tell you right away.

    Hi Mtrox,

Thank you very much for your help.

Fortunattely I already found something similar, that does it all simple and automated Outlook Express Backup Genie. Is not free, but I prefer to pay a small fee and feel confident that everything will work smooth than to do it manually myself and risk to lose it all...

    Thank you!
